Management

George Otoo
Managing Director

Mr. Otoo holds a Masters of Business Administration Degree in Insurance Management and is a Chartered Insurer of many years experience. He is an Executive Council member of the Ghana Insurers' Association, the Insurance Institute of Ghana, and the West African Insurance Companies Association (WAICA).

He is also a Director of Consortium House Limited, Epack Investment Fund Limited and Mainstream Reinsurance Company Limited. Mr Otoo joined EIC in 1981, and was appointed Managing Director in 1999.

Dr. Daniel Seddoh
General Manager, Finance

Dr. Dan Seddoh is a Chartered Accountant with a wealth of experience acquired with KPMG an international firm of Chartered Accountants. He holds a DBA from the University of Bradford, UK and an MBA in Finance from the Manchester Business School. Dan is a Director of the Databank Money Market.

Kwame Ofori
General Manager, Operations

Kwame Ofori has an Executive Master of Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts (Hon) from the University of Ghana. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Professionals - FCIP (Canada). He has participated in various courses and seminars around the world and has a wealth of experience in the Insurance industry.

Nii Otinkorang Ankrah
Deputy General Manager, Operations

Nii Otinkorang Ankrah holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics with Sociology, and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, London with 20 years experience in the industry. He also attended seminars of the West Africa Insurance Institute and the Mediterranean Insurance Training Centre, Malta.

Ernestina Abeh
Assistant General Manager, Operations

Tina holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Ghana, Legon. She is a Chartered Insurer with a wealth of hands-on experience in reinsurance. She joined EIC in 1992 and has attended series of courses and training programmes in Germany, South Africa and Ghana.

Maurice Nyarko Mensah
Head, HR and Administration

Maurice Nyarko-Mensah has over 17 years experience in Human Resource Management, having worked extensively in the consulting, academic and corporate environment. Prior to joining EIC, he was the Human Resource Advisor for Corporate and Retail in Barclays Bank Ghana Limited. He holds an MBA in Human Resource.

Abena Ponma Bonsu
Head, Legal Services and Company Secretary

Abena Ponma Bonsu assumed duty as Head, Legal Services and Company Secretary on June 2, 2008.Prior to this appointment she was the acting head Legal and Enforcement at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). She also worked at The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) from 1995 to 2006 as the Director, Legal and Investigations.Abena thus comes with a very rich legal experience and we are glad to have her as part of our executive management team.

Joseph Adjei
Senior Manager, Information Systems

Joseph Nii Obli Adjei is an Information and Telecommunication expert with a wealth of experience in Systems Administration, Communication, Information Technology Systems, Project Implementation and Management. Before joining EIC in November 1998, he worked with Digitronix Systems Limited, a leading IT company in Ghana as Account Manager, Technical Services and was in charge of various National and International projects.

Rexford Assah Asante
Senior Manager, Reinsurance & Statistics

Rexford has over 27 years experience in the insurance industry particularly in underwriting. Has participated in various courses and seminars locally and overseas notably in Germany with Munich Reinsurance Company for training and internship.

Alfred Aidoo
Senior Manager – Claims

Alfred holds a law (LLB) degree and has participated in various courses and seminars both local and overseas.

He has been a lawyer for 13, 11 of which have been in the insurance industry.

John Albert Aidoo
Senior Manager – Underwriting

Mr. Aidoo holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration (Insurance Option) and a Higher National Diploma Certificate in Education. He has attended local courses and seminars in insurance including Marine Insurance, Underwriting and Claims organized by Munich Reinsurance Of South Africa.

Alexander Ahenkorah Anane
Senior Manager, Accounts

Alex is a Chartered Accountant of several years of experience. He is a graduate of the University of Ghana, Legon. Alex had several years working experience with KPMG, an Accra firm of Chartered Accountants. He joined EIC in Nov 98.

Araba A. Asumanu (Mrs)
Manager, Internal Audit

Araba is a Chartered Accountant by Profession and holds a first degree in Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon. She has been in EIC since March 1999. Prior to her joining EIC, she worked in KPMG, a firm of Chartered Accountants where she gained tremendous experience in Auditing and Investigations.

Araba has hands on experience in Accounting, Systems investigations and Auditing. She has attended a number of courses and seminars relating to her field at various times in her career. She is currently pursuing an MBA (Finance) program at the University of Ghana.

Phyllis Woode-Nartey (Mrs)
Head, Business Development and Communication

Prior to joining EIC, Phyllis was in the business of brand communication for about 10 years. The first two years were spent in mainstream media, as the General Manager of Ghanaian Chronicle. The next eight were spent in AdMedia FCB, an internationally affiliated advertising agency. At the time of leaving AdMedia FCB, she was their General Manager.

She has a first degree in Management and an MBA in Marketing.

Richard Baffour Awuah
Office Manager

Richard holds an MBA in Human Resource management from the University of Ghana. Before joining EIC in 2000, he worked with Statistical Service, Volta River Authority and DATATEL in various administrative and human resource capacities.

Osman D. Abudu
Head, Risk Management Unit

Mr. Osman D. Abudu currently heads the Risk Management Unit. He holds a BSc Chemical Engineering from the University of Camaguey in the Republic of Cuba. He is also an Associate Risk Manager from the American Institute of Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriters and has received training in Risk Management & Loss Prevention at the Swiss Insurance Training Institute in Zurich, Switzerland. Prior to working with EIC he was an Assistant Production Manager with NFC Foam.

Akosua Ansah-Antwi, (Mrs)
Manager, Broker Relations

Akosua holds a degree in law (LLB) from Hull University, UK and a BL from the Ghana Law School. She also holds a diploma in Insurance from the West Africa Insurance Institute (WAII) in Gambia, having passed with distinction.

She joined EIC in 2000 and has participated in various courses and seminars in insurance both in Ghana and abroad.

Mercy N. K. Lamptey
Manager, Corporate Relations

Mercy is a Chartered Insurer and holds a B.A Hons (Secretaryship) Degree from the University of Cape Coast. She joined EIC in August 2000, and has attended various seminars in Ghana and abroad. She has cross functional experience in administration and insurance. She was formerly the Assistant Manager of the Broker Relations Workgroup.

Robert Boateng
Team Leader, Retail Relations Workgroup

Robert holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Insurance Option), from the University of Ghana, Legon and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute; UK He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the Methodist University College. He has attended various seminars and training programmes locally and abroad. He was formerly Assistant Manager, Corporate Relations.

Wilberforce Aboagye
Manager, SME/PIP Workgroup

Wilberforce Aboagye has a Bachelor of Education Degree in Social Studies and Diploma in Economics all from the University of Cape Coast. He joined EIC in September 1999 and has participated in a number of training programmes and seminars in Ghana and Nigeria.

Mohammed Bukari
Resident Representative, Tamale

Mohammed holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Law from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Before joining EIC, he was the Branch Manager of Quality Insurance Company Limited in Tamale. He has participated in various courses and seminars in management and insurance.

Paul Ampadu-Yeboah
Resident Representative, Kumasi

He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Ghana, a student member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK), a final year student of the Common Wealth of Learning Executive MBA with local and international training in insurance. Paul has over 11 years diversified experience in the insurance industry. He is competitive, enthusiastic and a well organized achiever with excellent marketing skills and innovative problem solving techniques. Paul joined EIC in 2001..

Joseph B. D. Ampofo
Manager, Airport Branch

Joe holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Ghana. He also holds a diploma in Insurance from the West Africa Insurance Institute (WAII) in Gambia, having passed with distinction.

Joe joined EIC in 1999 and has undergone various training in insurance on the African Continent namely in Nigeria, South Africa and Ghana. Joe is currently pursuing a course of studies with the Chartered Insurance Institute of United Kingdom to become a professional underwriter.

Samuel Adoteye-Asare
Manager, Tema Branch

He holds a Bachelors degree in Economics & Geography from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Sam has attended various courses and seminars both locally and internationally on underwriting, marketing and reinsurance. He holds a diploma from the West African Insurance Institute where he won awards in various courses including Property, Engineering and Pecuniary Insurances. He also holds a diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Institute Of Insurance, UK.He joined EIC in 1999.

Harry Ofori-Atta
Resident Representative, Takoradi

Harry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Renewable Natural Resources Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Prior to joining EIC In March 2008, he was a Client relations executive of Crown insurance Brokers. He is also a Chartered Insurance Professional ˆ CIP (CANADA) and has participated in a number of training programs and seminars in Ghana.
